Creating a Thriving Workplace Culture

Category: Culinary

Author: Eric Wells, Business Office Director

In today’s fast-paced world of healthcare, we realize the importance of creating a positive workplace culture. Here at The Cambridge Senior Living, we understand to achieve this culture, employees must trust their workplace.

A group of senior residents and staff pose together, ready for a game of chair beachball volleyball in a senior living community. One resident holds a colorful beachball, and the group smiles warmly, creating a sense of camaraderie and fun.

Each August, The Cambridge participates in the Great Place to Work Survey. This is a time where staff can be open and honest about their feedback. The data is collected by a third party, so it truly is anonymous. It is so important for us to hear the good, the bad, and the ugly to know what we can work on to truly make our community a great place to work.

A staff member dressed as a clown with a red wig and face paint smiles alongside a senior resident, capturing a joyful moment during Clown Week at the senior living community.

As the Business Office Director, I make it a priority to promote employee appreciation by consistently recognizing our hard-working team members. I love giving high fives and sharing smiles with everyone, helping them achieve their individual or team goals while creating laughter and lasting memories. I also enjoy spreading the word about our efforts and participating in events that boost morale across the board.

We believe when done right, making work a fun place creates a workplace culture that helps people thrive, promotes retention, and makes us a great place to work, which in turn makes us a great place to live.
